Rosie's Blessing Day

Rosie's blessing day, surrounded by family.

That's a lot of grandmas and grandpas.

Auman grandparents.

Lawrence grandparents.

And Madeline wore the exact same shirt as me.

The girls loved having Grandma and Grandpa Lawrence come stay.  Here's Rosie sitting by the pool with Grandpa Lawrence.

Lily and Rosie watching some cartoons with Grandma Lawrence while I got to take some naps.  Win win.

Out to Thai food on Grandma and Grandpa Lawrence's last night here.  Lily was kind of devastated when they left.  She talks about going to "Ahgon" (Oregon) to see Grandma and Moomoo (the pug) every day.

Great America

Finally getting some use out of our season passes now that I'm not pregnant.  Plus, the water park is open now!

We also stopped by to introduce Rosie to Grandma Auman.  These girls are lucky to have so many grandmas around.

Lily Turns Two

The day before Lily's birthday, we said goodbye to her Farrell cousins, who moved to upstate New York for the next three years.  Here are all the cousins together:

Aubrey, Katelyn, Rosemary, Owen, Nora, Lily, and Jackson

For her birthday, Lily got a big girl Minnie Mouse bed.

At her birthday party.

This little chocolate face loved Jordyn's hat.

Thank you for the birthday present!  Lily loves to take her "horsey" to bed with her.

Nothing entertains these kids as well as giant balloons.

Opening Minnie Mouse books and puzzle from Grandma Auman, and two more cute books from the other Grandma Auman.  The Elsa magnetic dolls from her aunt Karen are such a favorite that I've taken to hiding them on a higher shelf so I don't have to play Elsa dolls all day long.

Thank you to everyone who celebrated Lily's birthday with us.  We are so blessed to be parents to this sweet, sassy handful who makes our lives so much more fun.

Rosemary Helen Lawrence

My due date was the 13th, but apparently it takes me 41 weeks to grow a baby.  We went to the hospital Monday night on the 20th to be induced.  With Lily, Michael took a picture of me being passed on the sidewalk from the car to the hospital doors by an old man in a walker.  It was weird this time to drive to the hospital, totally calm and not in labor.

I got the induction drugs that night, and we slept (kind of).  In the morning, we had a scary almost-c-section, after which they decided not to give me any more of the drugs.  So we waited around all day (with no food for me -- that is the absolute worst) for contractions to get stronger.  Rosie was born the 21st at 8:17, weighing 9 lbs, 3 oz., and 20.5 inches long.

Lily came to visit the next day.  She wasn't really digging the whole sister thing.  Luckily, she's warming up to the idea.  Lily loves to say "It's okay, Wosie!" when Rosie cries, and "Wake up, Wosie!" when Rosie sleeps.  She also gives her lots of pats on the head, and we're continually working on being gentle with the baby.

Here is Michael with Rosie at five days old.

Aunt Rachel Visits

Michael's sister, Rachel, came to visit and we showed her around San Francisco. This is Lily's favorite spot in the city -- seven straight flights of escalators in the Union Square Macy's.

Conservatory of Flowers and Dutch Windmill in GG Park.

This little girl is not lacking in attitude.

Don't do . . . anything.

And my favorite place in the city -- Ghirardelli Square.

A quick drive down Lombard Street.

We also went to the Alameda County Fair.

Again with the attitude.

Lily looooved the goats and the deer and the pigs and the cows.  She was in heaven in the petting zoo.
